LM3D - BELL & ROSS EXCLUSIVE
Bell & Ross has developed a luminous material for the BR-X5 Lum. They created a composite combining epoxy quartz fiber for strength, a luminescent material, and a resin as a binder. Unlike carbon fiber, epoxy quartz fiber is invisible to the naked eye and perfectly diffuses light. The resulting material, LM3D, maintains a uniform color and brightness. It is as strong as carbon fiber and 70% lighter than steel.
THE MANUFACTURE MOVEMENT
The first collection from the brand to include a manufacture movement , the BR-X5 is the fruit of several years of research and development. The BR-CAL.323 calibre offers a power reserve of approx. 70 hours.
A BR-X5 WITH A LUMINESCENT CASE
The architecture of the BR-X5's multi-component case in this assembly alternates between multiple layers of LM3D and grade 2 microblasted black titanium with a DLC (diamond-like carbon) finish. Cut from a block of grade 2 titanium with a DLC finish, the container which houses the mechanism is inserted between two shields in LM3D, a photoluminescent composite material made from quartz fibres and which glows bright green.
